Paul Freeman's compositions of nude men in abandoned warehouses and industrial spaces is very well done. The nude figure contrasts with the world of metal and manufacturing nicely. Freeman's title comes from the suburb of Sidney where Paul Freeman located models and also conducts some shoots. The use of both color and black and white photography is employed almost to similar effect since the color photographs have muted skin tones against steel grays and iron rust colors found in industrial settings. The models are young muscular fellows and the book includes men of color as well as white men. Some of the poses imply men dressing or undressing for the work day or taking showers at the end of the work day. Many of the fellows are hairy or dirty which works perfectly well with the theme Freeman establishes in the book. The poses are not pornographic but are more natural relaxed photographs. The layout of the book allows for full page images repeatedly with other pages showing groupings of multiple smaller images. He is an accomplished photographer and the models are beautiful in this industrial setting.

Who would have ever predicted that the beginning of the 21 century would be over saturated with glossy, hard cover, expensively produced books on the subject of male physical appeal.UNfortunately,95 percent of the wet-dream books are silly, ridiculously self-conscious, theatrically staged attempts at erotica with pouty male models & eager to cash-in cameraqueers referencing female pinup poses and attitudes more than anything else. Both Betty Page and Marilyn Monroe were queens of the erotic pose, but men should never mimic them. The vast majority of the books also look like it were shot by the same cameracrew and staged by the same stylist. One body type, one facial structure, 2 maybe 3 basic poses. Very mind numbingly unimaginative. But once in a great, long, while, a book of man-pics comes along that successfully creates a sexy, fantasy universe populated by attractive men going about the daily job of just being masculine (in the blue collar sense). Casting the subjects is the most important (after two decades of obvious,gay-icon types they are, naturally, no longer sexy) followed by the unwavering (butch)taste of the photographer.Although the images are staged (as opposed to documentary),there's a ease and a naturalness about the images that's refreshingly attractive. The use of natural light, butch/gritty locations, the relaxed facial expressions (instead of forced seductive cliche' stare-downs) to and the UN-beefcake poses work well. I can only imagine what these books have done for Bondi-eye-candy-tourism in Australia.

I now own the entire 'Bondi' series and 'Outback' series. Bondi Work is my favourite so far!The men are rugged, muscular, physical 'imperfections' (hardly an appropriate term but I can't think of another) still visible. There are a number of posed shots, but a decent selection where the men seem to interact with themselves, each other, and their environment. They are seen in various states of undress, including full nudes. The men are not stylised or manscaped - they demonstrate the beauty of their entire bodies in its raw and natural state. It doesn't hurt that one of my all time favourite images comes from this book! The book is erotic but not explicitly sexualised, the photos artistic and never pornographic. A PERFECT coffee table book.Just note that it can be hard to get your hands on - I tried other retailers before amazon but they all said they had to order it in from other locations. There are so many photographers around but I must admit that I have a soft spot for Mr Freeman.Another great collection, my favourite to date.

This is another in the great line of Bondi books Paul Freeman has released. It's just as perfect as the others in the series. The models are beautiful and allowed to be "real" men which makes the book so much more sensual than any of the other male photography books on the market by other photographers. While I find the Outback series to be my favorite, you can't go wrong with this beautiful series!

Amazing work. This collection of photographs celebrates the rugged and masculine male body. It brings beauty to it that is overlooked or overshadowed in pornography, and it was nice to just see men being...men!So often are women depicted in a way in which their bodies are celebrated, so it was nice to see the male body getting this kind of attention. If you're wondering whether you're gay or not, your question will be answered after looking through these photographs. :-)

This is a very underrated Paul Freeman book. The photographs are excellent and for the most part look at least if not more natural that Bondi Classic. The men are beautiful and the settings and surroundings are terrific. This book will eventually surpass other Freeman books in popularity and collectibility because it is so good.

I've purchased photo books like this one before, but this is really awesome. All the models look really masculine, even in non-so-masculine positions. Their body seems pretty natural, not the typical all day gym body type. It's a great book for those of you who'd like to start a collection (I already have a good number of these)

Great photos! This was my first of Paul's work. I'm a fan for life. Plus he's really cool to his fans. Check out his site. I need to save up for the rest. "Gotta catch 'em all!"

“Extraordinary...One thinks of such American originals as John McPhee, Wallace Stegner, Edward Hoagland, Peter Matthiessen, and Evan S. Connell.” ―The Washington Post Book“This is a brillant, funny, and altogether perfect book, soaked in research and then aired out on the open plains to evaporate the excess, leaving this modern masterpiece. It makes me want to get in a truck and drive straight out to North Dakota and look at the prairie.” ―Garrison Keillor“History written with passion and delight... Frazier is a great storyteller.” ―Newsweek

Ian Frazier describes the Great Plains as a tourist might visiting a foreign country, charmed by its “otherness, romanticizing its strangeness. I’ve spent most of my life on or near the Great Plains. Most of the places he writes about are familiar. I must admit, though, that I have driven past many of the museums he stopped to visit, as I assumed they were at best vain attempts to claim that there was something significant or interesting about a mostly boring and unremarkable landscape. I still find other parts of the country to be far more beautiful and filled with many more things of interest, but the vast open spaces of the prairie still tug at my heart as no other place can. Thus, I found his book to be especially interesting as it has enabled me to see the familiar through the eyes of a stranger. I learned much that was new to me (including what was in the museums I have always driven by), and his writing, is captivating. One quibble: I found it strange that he almost completely overlooks the significance of the railroads to the Great Plains other than a passing remark about coal trains. Long before the development of air travel which made this “flyover country” railroads were an integral part of the development of this area, often determining which settlements succeeded and which failed. Many of the towns of the Great Plains still have a railway station, even if it is no longer in use. And, while only a smattering of passengers still travel my rail across these states, the railways still carry a vast amount of freight. It was strange, in fact, the he made no mention of the Union Pacific Bailey Yard in North Platte, Nebraska, the largest rail yard in the world, through which an average of 139 trains per day pass through.

“The Plains Cree never washed their clothes, just bought new ones at the trader’s twice a year … The Crow chopped joints off their fingers in mourning so often that they hardly had a whole hand among them. The men generally saved their thumbs and one or two trigger fingers.” ‒ from GREAT PLAINS“The empty air was still vibrating slightly with the suppressed fidgets of children.” ‒ from GREAT PLAINS, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic in Strasburg, ND after the end of Sunday service“… the oil towns of Plainview and Midland and Odessa rise like offshore drilling rigs. In prosperous years, the push buttons of local pay telephones are smudged with oily fingerprints, and Laundromats have ‘Do Not Wash Rig Clothes Here’ signs.” ‒ from GREAT PLAINS“‘(Custer) killed a man when he fell. He laughed’, Sitting Bull said … I like to believe Custer even had fun dying … Custer finally ran into the largest off-reservation gathering of Indians ever in one place on the continent, and gave them what was possibly the last really good time they ever had.” ‒ from GREAT PLAINS“Driving on the prairie near Great Falls, Montana, or Minot, North Dakota, or Cheyenne, Wyoming, you might not realize right away that you are in a weapons system. A nuclear-missile silo is one of the quintessential Great Plains objects: to the eye, it is almost nothing … but to the imagination, it is the end of the world.” ‒ from GREAT PLAINSIn 1982, author Ian Frazier moved from New York to Kalispell, Montana. There, he started to dream about the Great Plains. And from there, he began his exploration of the landscape he dreamed about. In GREAT PLAINS, he tells us what he discovered.Although there may be an underlying structure to GREAT PLAINS, it wasn’t readily apparent to this reader beyond the chapter numbers. Rather it seems but an almost endless stream-of-thought collection of anecdotal stories of Frazier’s personal experiences driving the Great Plains mixed with historical asides about the region. It is, however, constantly fascinating. It was a disappointment when the narrative concluded at the 69% point when the book transitioned to the Notes Index; unhappily, the narrative itself isn’t endless.Beyond his own experiences with the people he meets and the places he visits, GREAT PLAINS is a varied mix of Great Plains past history and present realities: the identifying characteristics of the Indian tribes and their tepees, the old trapper rendezvous sites of Fort Union and Bent’s Fort, the plains grasses and tumbleweeds, Bonnie and Clyde, Billie the Kid, present-day abandoned homesteads, Custer, the Dustbowl, the influx of black settlers after the Civil War and that of German-speaking Russians in the late 19th century, Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull, the evolution of wheat types being planted and stored, present-day missile silos, strip mining, the 1862 Homestead Act, Lawrence Welk, the extermination of the buffalo, cattle drives, Dodge City of the “old west”, and the Indian Ghost Dance. The topics touched upon by Frazier are contextually fascinating and, thus, GREAT PLAINS is one of those books which compel the reader to Google search for more information.I enjoyed GREAT PLAINS more than I thought I would. When I fly over them next, I’ll pay more attention looking out the window.

This is a marvelous book, one of my favorites. If it has special meaning for me, it is because I grew up on those plains, where a man on a horse could ride through grasses so tall he could pass unseen. Some 50 years ago when I was a child, those prairies were neat lawns, shaven down to emerald squares topped by demure ranch houses on streets with names like Olathe Drive or Sioux Circle. Ian Frazier, in his epic work, "Great Plains," looks back to America's heart's past and sees again the vast herds of bison, the rutted trails West, the harsh light and harsher weather. His prose sings and dances with stories of people, red, white, black and yellow, who lived and bled on those plains under an endless blue sky, across an enormous landscape of golden plant life teeming with animals. That horizon ended only with the faintest smudge of gray, where the Rocky Mountains began. I knew only glimpses of my home place, living in Manhattan, where the flat, featureless streets bear no resemblance to the supposedly flat, featureless prairies. Then I read, for the first of many times, Frazier's paean to the Great Plains, and I knew I had found my way home.

Mr. Frazier retells the amazing story of the western plains. He brings the history alive by sharing lesser known facts and anecdotes of well known figures and great events. He brings us into the lives of modern people of the Plains by sharing what he learned meeting them, talking with them, and walking with them in their world. It is not always a pretty story, a sequence of happy endings. It is real, because the humans who lived it were real and we see them in action against a never to be repeated landscape of the opening of the west. It remains a magnificent story, and Ian Frazier tells it brilliantly.

I was in the same group as Anjaly that visited North Korea. Of the three books i have read on North Korea, this is the only one that gives a fair picture on the closed nation. I admire here for the risk she took of going there under the cover of being a "Kindergarten" teacher. Her going there with an open mind helped her to give an open and honest opinion about the DPR. The book is easy to read and enjoyable and would recommend it to anyone interested to know about North Korea. I am still longing for the experience she had in Mongolia but plans are already in place for me to go there soon. I would not let go as to why me, a citizen of an unknown country, Swaziland went there!

Anjaly Thomas is one of the best travel writer who I’m very glad to meet. Places she travelled can be quite interesting for you. She travels some places such as North Korea, no one dares. I congratulate her for her courage.Although name of the book is ‘There are No Gods in North Korea’, in this book, there are many travel notes noted in many countries, such as Turkey, Mongolia, etc. This is a great book with her expression and style which can changes opinion you have on travel. I enjoyed reading this book and i know that you will also enjoy while you read. It's the best book on travel book I've read. I'll be looking forward to having her other book which will be publish soon. CONGRATS!!

The book is very well written and gives lot of fascinating information about North Korean regime that we don't read anywhere else.Anjali also wrote lot of information on many other places that gives readers useful information.I highly recommend readers to buy this book.

With the escalating tension between North Korea (officially known as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, or DKPK) and the United States of America, the citizens of the world are very keen to know the credentials of the North Korea leadership. When Ms. Anjaly Thomas visited the country or penned this book, present supreme leader Kim Jong-Un was not in power. His predecessor Kim Jong-Il was serving the nation. People of DKPK are confined to their country at the whim and mercy of the people in power. The Korea was divided into two parts, namely, North and South Korea, after a deadly battle during 1947-48. After the World War II, the Soviet Union got control over North Korea, while the United States of America got control over South Korea. We see the complete different socio-economic structure in the North and South Korea. Later South Korea took the pathways of rapid industrialization and economic development, while democratic processes were also installed. Whereas, North Korea took the paths of conflict with the western countries, mainly which are allies to the USA. They also developed their nuclear artillery, even after much disapproval from the United Nations Security Council and many such other intergovernmental bodies. Present supreme leader Kim Jong-Un is now in the loggerhead with US president Donald Trump. As a single female traveler, the author took a brave journey to survey internal situations in North Korea, while she unearthed many secrets and unspoken anecdotes about the people absorbing the oppression, and the people in power (oppressors). Still, the author found some of the effects of globalization in the society. People are fond of western brands, many times those are imitating or counterfeits. As the name of the book suggests, the ordinary citizens might have forgotten to worship gods, worshiping present supreme leader (in the form of installing numerous statues and cutouts) becomes a customary on the surface of the society.

To find the secrets of the world laid out for you to read and savor, prompting you to make your own travel plans is the impact of THERE ARE NO GODS IN NORTH KOREA. This is a travelogue that makes you smile, savor, chuckle and introspect. The book is not just a diary of a seasoned traveler listing her success stories but a compilation of thoughts and feelings as she encounters the world. How she has grown and changed with her travels, each trip adding to who she has become now.People across the globe are similar yet different, each country having its own peculiar flavor. Anjaly has managed to gather them all in this collection of her travels. The best part is that all of it seems effortless as I read it. she seamlessly moves from one city to another, one challenge to another and the perfect promotion for backpacking – making it all so glamorous that I want to add it to my ‘bucket list’ and wonder that in spite of being an ‘army brat’ why I never tried it.Travels have been an integral part of my life and I have always enjoyed it however I always felt that travel books don’t do justice to the whole experience. They just tend to show the good parts making us fall for a place, tourism advertising. In her book Anjaly does the exact opposite, she goes into the heart of the place, sharing the beautiful vistas and loneliness. How a simple fawn colored coat changed her life. Talking about the must visit places and what we will find there, the rush, the heat, the flies and even the dangers. Her book is an ideal book for travelers who are starting out, travelers who want to visit ‘out of the box’ places and who want a individual, different experience for their travels. She doesn’t sugarcoat the world and she doesn’t dwell on the negatives. True, no place is perfect but your experience can be if you follow her advice! And she is subtle with her hints, tips and tricks! JAlso, I too fell in love with Ms Deer. It was as if she was singing her ‘swan song’ such was the power of Anjaly’s words when she describes her. The experience of her travels in North Korea is the initial part of the book but leaves a lasting impression. Maybe because it is the real forbidden city or maybe due the stark contrast of what we take for granted, I found myself imagining how it must be to live in such a prison each day for ever. The few days Anjaly spent there are enough for me to realize not all travel is fun or for us. The impact of Anjaly’s book on a micro level is a good enough difference for those citizens of North Korea. To have their stories told and to think and talk of then will definitely make a difference. Hope they are found by real gods.“What it did not have was people. And life. And color. Traffic jam. Noise. It was missing something essential called – People.”An apt description of DPRK since it all was make-believe yet real. One think that I immediately missed was the pictures, even though the descriptions do full justice to the travels and the photographs never truly capture the essence of a place I felt a few could have been shared. I am a sucker for photos no matter how bad.The writing and the language is sassy, funny and has a good doze of humor. I enjoyed reading her experiences of Mongolia, Africa, China and Turkey especially since she was able to find humor in tough situations. Her sense of humor adds a punch to the book as do the many tips and tricks woven into the stories as and when they helped her. And the creepy places she visited. She did manage to find one in almost every trip! Almost.Africa has the author’s heart but that does not stop her from visiting other places and I agree with her that if we miss out on Africa we miss out on real travel. I could go on writing about the experiences she has shared and her ‘marriage’ but the real fun is reading the book.As usual I have said too much but I must mention “Travel and Relief”. This is the final destination that must be the aim for all travelers. This book and her travels have opened the roads for many more to join in and contribute to bring relief materials to places they travel. As she said a candy or a bar of soap also makes a big difference.I wish Anjaly happy travels and hope her tribe of ‘Relief Travelers may increase.Broaden your horizon – go read the book.

EAT FAT GET THIN. Who's not going to buy this book? Admit it or not, this book is a blessing in disguise. The book has a wide variety of dishes from breakfast recipes to dessert recipes. Also, this book has a whole month meal plan which we really needed. There's this food services in the Philippines that offers 'healthy' dishes that can be found in this book. Seriously, the dishes offered to us worth more than it should. For people like us who loves cooking, this book seriously offers us recipes that's delicious but healthy. In this book, I learned that fat is not just the fat I am scared of. A lot of help! Praises to the author Samuel!

Great looking recipes, but as in the other two books, I've found missing or incomplete nutritional info. Also, I think a shopping list would have been nice - it would make the transition and meal prepping easier to know what new stock items I will need.

This book is so confusing. Measurements go from grams to ounces, commas where there should be periods in receipes and an overall rush to get to the printer. Poor product.

This is a great book that explains the benefits of the high fat diet and why it works. It comes with an extensive one month meal plan, with detailed and easy to make recipes. One could follow it as a mea plan or even use this book as a cook book. A great read!

I just began my health journey a few months ago as well, and this book is a really good guide that I would be following...

Some recipes have odd ingredients (chemicals thickeners , artificial sweetener ) but great for ideas ,and nutritional stats

I was excited to get this book. However, in today's times, everyone knows about the health problems of diary and unhealthy fats that come from animals that are not grass fed. Diary has over 60 hormones in it because it comes from a lactating cow to feed her calf. Even if it's organic diary, it's not healthy and doesn't belong in a human being. Lamb and other meats are loaded with hormones and antibiotics, and no emphasis was placed on grass fed healthier meats high in Omega 3's, instead of the fat from grain fed animals that cause many cancers and heart disease. The basis of fat burns fat is fine, but there is no discretion or emphasis on healthy fat in this book which could have easily been achieved by the author with the same benefit to the consumer for weight loss. So you get thin and get Cancer, fibrotic breasts, enlarged uteruses and a host of other serious health issues.I would think twice before using this book for weight loss.

Excellent cookbook that is an unofficial cookbook to "Eat Fat, Get Thin" by Dr Mark Hyman

This study guide has information, formulas, and tips about home wiring (such as installing switches, receptacles, lights, etc.) as well as additional info like smoke detector installation locations and power consumption cost of various appliances. Being only 6 pages long, this guide is not comprehensive but it's a useful primer. But as always: if you're not totally sure about what you're doing, don't risk causing a fire or an electrocution; call an electrician. It's laminated and has 3 holes to fit in a 3-ring binder.

This is exactly what I wanted. I always need that one formula, or tip, or equation, and here are all the important ones, all together!
